Considered Notable to the city and classified as a Category 2 House, the Thomas Hamlin House, circa 1828, is an Antebellum home built in the Greek Revival style. The one-and-half-story single house on a raised brick basement is, according to John Poston's The Buildings of Charleston, the first house built on Gadsden above Wentworth Street and is thought to have been a summer home for the Hamlin's.
